Isla Faye Reece, 83

Isla Faye Reece, 83, of Dean, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Dean, Texas with Rev. Shawn Bitner officiating. Burial was in the Dean Cemetery.

Mrs. Reece was born on January 1, 1934, in Grundy Center, Iowa to John Henry and Mary (Allgood) Mast. She was the eleventh of twelve children and grew up near Beaman, Iowa. She graduated in 1951 and married Charles Benson on September 12, 1953. They lived on a farm near LaMoille, Iowa. Charles contracted Polio and Isla cared for him until his death on March 14, 1975. They had two sons, David and Dennis Benson. Mrs. Reece married John Robert Reece, on February 2, 1985. They lived in Boonville, MO for 11 years. In 1996, they moved to Dean, Texas where they found a home and a church family at the First Baptist Church in Dean.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Benson; siblings, Lynn, Earl, John, Dean, Gale, Glen and Loyd Mast and Fern Byram,

Survivors include her husband Bob Reece, of Dean, Texas; two sons, David Benson and wife Leigh, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Dennis Benson and wife Laurie, of Orange City, Iowa; six grandchildren: Andrew and wife Angela, Joshua, Sara, Rebekah, Joel, Jonathan; great-granddaughters: Isabella and Poppy; one step-son, Kyle Reece; two step-daughters: Pam Williamson and Chris Phillippi and husband Jim; three siblings, Lola Clapp, June Dreesman and Dale Mast.

Mrs. Reece was a beloved wife, mother and grandma. She loved all kinds of gardening, cooking. and birds. She loved Jesus first and family second. She invested a lot in people and her grandkids.
