Terry Fink, 76

Terry Fink, 76, of Tama, Iowa, passed away on the evening of Friday, March 31, 2017 at Iowa Methodist Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Funeral services for Terry will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Salem Church located in Lincoln, Iowa with Pastor Barbara Muhs officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery. Terry Fink was born on July 17, 1940, in Lincoln, Iowa, the son of Evelyn Fink. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Jim Scott, who he always knew as “Dad.” Terry attended grade school in Lincoln, and high school in Traer. He was united in marriage to Vicki Johnsen on February 2, 1963. The two later divorced. On June 14, 1986, Terry was united in marriage to Judy (Sherman) Schulz in Evansdale, Iowa.

Terry was a hardworking man, starting off his colorful career as a truck driver for Richter and Sienknecht. Later in life, he worked for and then retired from John Deere in 1999. Following retirement, Terry went back to his passion of truck driving where he started T.J. Fink Trucking. He had a passion for trucking, road trips with Judy, Western’s, motorcycles, woodworking and most importantly, his family.

Terry is survived by his wife, Judy; children: Troy (Patty) Fink, of Ohio, Michelle (Jim) Kraai, of Des Moines, Kirk (Kelly) Fink, of Clutier; three step-children: Susan (Jeff) Kopsa, of Tama, Diane Schulz, of Garwin, and Lia (Jo Johnson) Schulz, of Cedar Falls; grandchildren: Michael, Brian and Kristen Fink, Smith and Wesson Kraai, Ashley, Aaron and Amber Fink, Jerimi Kopsa, Chelsea Edgington, Colton Puls, Katie Airey, Megan Eimers and Shannon Murphy; 8 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings: Royce Fink, Susan Hamann, Debra Scott-Harre and Trudi Scott.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father.
