Rodney L. Ormston

Rodney L., Ormston, of Fairland, OK, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, in Miami, OK. Born August 28, 1971, in Marshalltown, IA, to William and Cynthia Ormston. He was a veteran of the US Army and played in the Iowa National Guard Band. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1989. While in school he participated in sports, drama, vocal music, band and mock trial. He also was active in 4-H with many projects. He was a member of the Gladbrook Chapel Methodist Church and active in YF. He attended and graduated from SW Missouri. While in school he worked part time in Branson working with Glen Campbell, Dino, Shoji and others. He also worked in the motel business and was manager of the Drury Inn in Joplin, MO, before he started working as a social worker for the State of Oklahoma. Member of the SCA Club, played Warhammer, he was a jewelry maker, mead brewing, read books and designed costumes.

Survived by his wife, Tracy Maupin; parents, William and Cynthia Ormston; brother Billy Ormston; niece, Jessica Ormston; nephews Riley Ormston, Philip Ormston and Robert Dale; numerous aunts, uncles and a multitude of dear friends.
