Hope Anson, 93

Hope Anson, 93, of Marshalltown, Iowa, succumbed to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. Funeral services for Hope will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Fleming officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, where her family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in Hope’s name to her family who will later designate them to the Animal Rescue League. Hope Doris Simpson was born on September 3, 1924, in Boone, Iowa to parents, Andrew and Myrtle Simpson.

Hope was a graduate of Marshalltown High School in the year 1942. She was later employed as an operator by Bell Telephone Co. On November 7, 1944, Hope and Robert (Bob) W. Anson were joined in matrimony. They resided in Marshalltown, where they raised four children. Hope was a dedicated wife and mother. She and Bob, through example, taught their children the importance of integrity, compassion, love and respect for all.

Hope was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Kip Anson; a sister Norma Simpson; her beloved husband, Robert W. Anson; and brother-in-law Gerald Anson.

She is survived by her son Dana and wife Dorothy, of Marion, IA, daughter Kim Trowbridge and husband Patrick, of Tulsa, OK, son Robert and wife Theresa, of Marshalltown, and son Greg and wife Linda, of Chelsea, OK; sister-in-law Marilyn Anson, of Marshalltown. Hope is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She will, once again, join hands with her lifelong love in the Kingdom that our Lord has prepared for her. The Peace of Jesus Christ is now upon her.
