Jacquelyn Faye Weitzell, 86, of Le Grand, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Memorial services for Jackie will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Le Grand Friends Church with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Le Grand Friends Church or Le Grand Fire/EMS Association. Jacquelyn Carlson was born on December 15, 1931, in Laurel, Iowa, to Jack and Thelma (Lown) Carlson. Following Jack’s death, Thelma wed Basil Tow who then adopted Jackie. Jackie graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1949. On February 10, 1950, Jackie was united in marriage to Wayne E. Weitzell in Marshalltown. Jackie was a homemaker until her children got older and then went to work for Hy-Vee as a meat wrapper for 26 years. Jackie was a devoted member of the Eastern Star, enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching TV, playing cards in her younger years and loved her dog, Gabby.

Jackie is survived by her children: Linda (Leland) Rahjes, of Kansas, Jan (Charley) McKeever, of Le Grand, DeLoris Samuelson, of Knoxville, and Don (Chris) Weitzell, of Le Grand; grandchildren: Scott, Kelli, Curt, Shelly, Deisha, Dana, Amanda, Brad and Jake. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren with one on the way; her caregiver Patti Johnson and sisters Sara Stone and Vickie Henriksen.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Wayne; parents Jack, Thelma and Basil; great granddaughter Kaylee; brother Jay Tow and sons-in-law Dennis Heeke and David Samuelson.
