Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Loren Strait of the Central Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at 10 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Rachel Ann Haire was born on May 29, 1918, in Marshalltown at the St. Thomas Hospital to Joseph and Eva (Folger) Haire. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School’s Class of 1936. On April 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Paul T. Williams in Marshalltown. They made their home in Marshalltown all of their married lives where she was employed at the Marshall County Courthouse, McGregor Furniture and retired from Marshall County Extension office. Rachel was a faithful member of Central Christian Church, the choir and bell choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, quilting and playing the piano.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Bruce (Sharon) Williams, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Clayton (Ann)Williams and Kevin (Julie) Williams, all of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Julie (Steven) Manuel, Todd (Nina) Williams, Eric (Tiffany) Williams, Emily Williams, Amie (Adam) Sutherland, Jason Frost and Shane Frost, Matt Rubenthaler, and Shannon Hunsaker; great-grandchildren: Elena Williams, Eric Manuel, Hayden Williams, Evan and Emma Nason, Brayden, Cole and Kinsley Hartwig, Allison, Derek and Brooke Rubenthaler, Jordin, Brody, Coby, Angelin and Matthew Frost, Aaron and Aidan Sutherland; and great-great-grandson Parker Scoles; as well as several nieces and nephews and friends.

In death Rachel rejoins her parents, Joseph and Eva; husband Paul; daughter Phyllis Hunsaker; grandson Dalton Hunsaker; and sisters, Mary Gooding, Georgia Morris and Frances Adkins.
