Kenna Kay Huffaker, 72, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services for “Kay” will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Norem and Rob Thompson officiating. The family requests casual dress. Public visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. onWednesday, February 21, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Kay’s family will be present to greet friends. Kenna Kay Diggins was born on January 22, 1946 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth H. and Twilla (Craig) Diggins. Her parents later divorced and she was raised by her mother who later married Vic Polley. On November 15, 1963, Kay was united in marriage to the love of her life, Loren Roger Huffaker in Marshalltown, Iowa. From this union two children were born, Loren Jr. and Jody. Kay was a hardworking woman dedicating her time and effort at Benskins Motor Service for many years. She had a passion for doing anything and everything with her husband, Loren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and making quilts along with putting together puzzles, crossstitching and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid follower of her favorite race car driver, Darrel DeFrance. Kay was a member of the Cedar Rapids AACA Car Club and belonged to the Matins Kiwanis Club. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Loren Huffaker; two children, Loren Jr. “Butch” (Kimberly) Huffaker and Jody (Tim) Patrick; threestep-grandchildren, Nick, Alexandra and Madison; siblings, Bob (Nancy) Diggins and Nancy (Marion) Borton; two sisters-in-law, Judy Diggins and Bernice Diggins; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Roger, Larry and Ed.
