Dennis Bond, 65

Dennis Bond, 65, of Le Grand, died Saturday, February 24th, at the Israel Family Hospice Home in Ames.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Private interment will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to his family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234.

Born on November 27th, 1952, in Marshalltown, he was the son of David Asher and Blythe Adell (Clark) Bond, Sr. He received his education in the area of his birth and graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1971. On March 24th, 1973, he married the love of his life, Joellen “Jody” Jordan at his parent’s home in Marshalltown. They made Le Grand their home during their married life together. Dennis was involved in building and woodworking and was self-employed at B and F Builders and for the past seven years at Fisher Controls in security. Dennis enjoyed construction, reading, watching TV and a lifetime of waiting came true in 2016 when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series! He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

Left to mourn his loss are Jody, his loving wife of 44 years; son Brian (Angie) Bond, of Kellogg, and former daughter-in-law Winter Skraastad; grandchildren: Haley Story, Dakota and Kylee Bond, Ryan Weatherly, Denton York, as well as his siblings: David (Susan) Bond, Jr., of Marshalltown, Jeff (Mary Sue) Bond, of Marshalltown, Michael (Marianne) Bond, of Marshalltown and Raymond (Sharon) Bond of Arvada, CO; and his cat Tabitha, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In death Dennis rejoins his parents David and Blythe Bond; brother, Barry; infant sister, Rebecca; niece, Dean; nephew, Todd and in-laws, Herbert and Darlene Smith; cats, Smoekee, Stormmee and L.C.
