Allen “Al” Croft Wagner, 88, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown. Memorial services for Al will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Members of the local Masonic Lodge will provide a Masonic Ceremony for Al during the service. There will be no public visitation prior to the service. Allen Croft Wagner was born on January 14, 1930 in Waynesboro, PA, the son of Harry Atwell and Edith Mae (Smith) Wagner. He graduated from Kenwood High School in Baltimore County, MD. Allen honorably served his country by enlisting with the Marine Corps Reserve from 1948 until 1951.
On January 16, 1981, he was united in marriage to Violet Coleman in Marshalltown, IA. Al was employed with Lockheed for 28 years where he was a computer programmer. He also worked at Lennox for 8 years where he was also a data processor. Al was a proud member of his Masonic lodge #108 in Marshalltown, IA. He had a passion for fishing, classic country music, any do it yourself projects and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Violet Wagner; children: William (Dana) Wagner, Bonnie (Walt) Liss, Sandra (David) Clough, Mike Coleman, Debra (Don) Hans and Mary (Jim) Meyer; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one step-sister, Harriet Sheurman and one sister-in-law, Lee Wagner.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Wagner.
