Robert Eugene Palmer was born August 29, 1949, to Paul E. and Althea M. (Brandriet) Palmer in Deadwood, South Dakota. He graduated from Ames High School in 1967 and operated Palmer Automotive and Customs. Bobbo then worked at Almaco in Ames and Nevada. He had a passion for all things mechanical from building motorcycles to racing. He also enjoyed gunsmithing, hunting, taxidermy and tattooing.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Julie Palmer; his father, Paul Palmer; his brother, Douglas (Kay) Palmer; and three nieces, Amy Palmer, Michelle Palmer and Lisa (Brandon) Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Althea; and his brother, Thomas Palmer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests performing a random act of kindness in his honor.
