Steven Waldo, 69

Steven Waldo died unexpectedly on Wednesday May 24th, 2018 in Marshalltown Iowa.

Steve was born January 17, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was adopted by Lowell and Mary May Waldo. They lived on a farm outside of Grundy Center and Steve farmed with his parents while growing up. They had a large acreage that includes livestock, lambs, apple orchards, combines and tractors, so it was a given that Steve would be in 4-H. Growing up, Steve participated in 4-H and loved showing his livestock. He was active in his high school years at Grundy Center High Class of 1967. Steve participated in many groups and was a football Manager. His prize possession after graduation was his custom built 1967 firebird.

In 1967 he met the love of his life, Tana Johnson and they married in 1968 and had a daughter Shannon (Hartman). Steven was then drafted in 1968 to Vietnam where he served his country in the Vietnam War. Steve worked for Gethman Construction and Swifts as well as a mechanic. If anything needed built or fixed he could do it. Steve was a very giving person who would help anyone. He loved his grandchildren and watching them play sports. Steve also had a love for amusement parks, camping, and working on his firebird, and most of all he was a huge Green Bay Packer fan. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by Tana (Waldo) Johnson his partner of 50 years, daughter Shannon (Hartman), son in law Ryan Hartman, grandchildren Baylee Waldo, Bradyn Carroll, Colton Carroll, great grandchildren, Mylee Waldo and Benson Waldo and granddaughter- in- law Baylee Waldo (Mommer).

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Mary May Waldo (Beach) and his father Lowell Waldo.
