Avery Leland Rogers, 33

Former Marshalltown High School standout, Avery Leland Rogers, 33, of Jackson, Wyoming, died May 5th, 2019, in one car roll over accident near Towgotee Pass, Moran, Wyoming. Avery was born December 12th, 1985, in Laramie, Wyoming to Marty and Judy Rogers. Avery grew up and was homeschooled in Conrad, Iowa. He was active in Marshalltown High School football, playing fullback and wrestling where he consistently competed in the state championships. He received his associates degree in business at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, where he wrestled for three years. He worked various jobs in the Jackson area, becoming CEO of Nutech Roofing in 2016. Avery loved people and especially children; if you were an older person that acted as a child, he loved you even more. Avery donated his time to the Boys & Girls Club of Laramie, the Jackson wrestling team and many other organizations. Avery was an avid pool player, as were his grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to golf and of course snowboard, especially time spent snowboarding Jackson with his daughter Halle. Avery was a avaricious reader, reading entire encyclopedias as a child. He was also enthusiastic about building Legos into adulthood, which definitely aided his successful roofing endeavors.

Avery is survived by his daughter Halle, 8, and son Theodore, 9 months, of Jackson Wyoming; his mother and father Judy and Marty Rogers, of Jackson, Wyoming and Union, Iowa; brother Mike, Jamie and Lane Rogers, of Leadore, Idaho; brother Chase, Sarah and baby Lily Rogers, of Jackson Wyoming; brother Levi and Olga Rogers, of Prineville, Oregon; and his paternal grandmother Mary Rogers, of Union, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry Rogers, Union, Iowa and his maternal grandparents Ben and Betty Hammell, Riverton, Wyoming.

Family has arranged a viewing for Thursday, May 9th from 6-9 pm at Valley Mortuary and funeral services for Friday, May 10th at 11 am at Valley Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow services at Aspen Hills Cemetery, Jackson. A fund has been established at Bank of the West for his two children and contributions can be made to “Avery Rogers Child Education Fund” or via his GoFundMe page at www.gofundme.com/averys-childrens-education-fund. Avery did not know a stranger. He lit up a room with his constant smile and enthusiasm for life. He loved all and was loved by many more. He will be sorely missed by so many. A celebration of Avery’s amazing life will be held at the Virginian Hotel, Sunday, May 12th at 1 pm.
