George Wesley Keen was born July 11, 1927, to Howard and Vivian (Bridges) Keen, in Le Grand, IA. He attended and graduated from Le Grand High School. After High School, George proudly served his country in the U.S Navy as a Seabee during WWII. On February 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Donna Helland in Marshalltown. George worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years. He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, the Marshalltown Frank Lewis Glick American Legion Post #46, as well as the Marshalltown Masonic Temple. George’s hobbies included golfing, fishing, gardening, and traveling with Donna. He cherished all the friendships he made while living at the Embers Retirement Community over the past two years.

George will be missed by his brother, Jack (Betty) Keen, his sister, Marcia Keen; three nephews: Kim Keen, David Goos, Lane Goos; two nieces: Gail Keen, Chris Burtraw; many great nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Goos. George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Donna, and a brother-in-law, George Goos.
