Marjorie Coppock, 81

Marjorie Coppock, 81, of the Willows, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019, at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown at 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, at 5-7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date.

Marge was born March 24, 1938, on a farm in rural Marshall Co. to Wilma Hoover-McGrew. She was raised by her grandparents, Pearle and Harry Hoover. She graduated from Gilman High School in 1956. She was united in marriage with Richard Coppock in 1957. To this union were born four children. They lived in the Laurel area, later divorced in 1985.

She was involved in farming and agriculture all her life working the land and raising livestock. She especially loved the hog operation. She also was director/teacher of the Wee Friends Preschool in Le Grand for 10 happy years. She retired, as a secretary for the state of Iowa in 2004, after working DHS & Voc Rehab agencies for 17 years. After retirement she spent many warm winters in Mesa, AZ, but always looked forward to coming home to the farm every spring.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy (Tina) Coppock, Christina Coppock, Alan (Lisa) Coppock and Lori (Paul) Lundberg; grandchildren: Jocelin (Greg) Johnson, Rachelle (Jordon) Overton, Adam Coppock (Aleaha Taggart), Amy Coppock, Ali (Sean) Egleston and Grant (Zoee) Pollock; great-grandchildren: Jace Johnson, Kenna Johnson, Landry Johnson, Audrey Denton, Ella Egleston, baby girl Egleston, Carter Merschbrock, Brennyn Laffoon, Zander Laffoon, Veda Overton, Violet Overton and Kayden Knebel-Hayes.

Preceding her in death was a sister, Janet Van Wyk, (Harley Van Wyk); brothers, Gary McGrew, Dale McGrew and infant brother, Keith McGrew; her mother, Wilma McGrew and her grandparents, Harry and Pearle Hoover.
