Irene Anna Graether
Irene Anna Graether died peacefully on June 13, 2019, shortly after her 87th birthday. She has been in declining health since sustaining a hip fracture in June of 2018. Her body will be cremated and no formal memorial service will be held by her specific instruction as her remaining friends are widely scattered.
She will be long remembered for her engaging smile, her kindness, quick wit, honesty, joyful attitude and as a loyal and steadfast friend. Irene was a beautiful human being in every way and will remain in the hearts of those who knew her well.
Irene is survived by her husband, John; her son, Bruce living in Oregon and a younger sister in Michigan. Any memorial gift in her memory may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice.
