Wilda Schryver, 95
Wilda Schryver, 95, of Conrad, IA, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Oakview Nursing Home under the care of Iowa River Hospice, in Conrad. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at the Conrad United Methodist Church in Conrad. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 9, also at the Conrad United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Conrad Cemetery following the funeral. Wilda Isbell was born in Frederick, OK, on February 25, 1924. She was the youngest child of Bert and Hazel Isbell and joined older brother Lyle. She met Jerry Schryver while he was with the Army Air Corps in Frederick, OK. The two were married in May of 1944 in Oklahoma City. They had three sons: Rusty, Mark and Matt. Wilda studied art at Oklahoma University at Norman and went on to graduate at the University of Northern Iowa. She taught art for several years at the high school in Conrad. Wilda also co-owned Green Products Company with husband Jerry. She believed strongly in civic involvement and was in too many clubs and organizations to name.
Wilda was passionate about art, gardening, family and friendships. Her positive outlook was infectious and she made life colorful. She will be best remembered for her kindness, empathy, creative spirit, keen sense of humor and frequent smile.
Wilda is survived by Rusty (Jean), Mark (Denise), and Matt (Kim); grandchildren: Sara McElroy (Paul), Jill (Tom Swegle), Jami Rolston (Henry), Jay (Susie), Luke (Steffi), and Liz (Laila Ballout); great grandchildren: Banks, Shelby, Jack, Olivia, Isbelle, Jude, Julia and Nina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.
