George Godfrey, 85
A Funeral service for George Godfrey, 85, of Marshalltown, was held on September 11, 2019, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Rev. Tom Bower officiated the service. Jan Randall and Joan Greufe performed special music.
Pallbearers were Aaron Thomas, Matthew Waldon, Ron Lence, Randy Repp, Gregg Halbach, Tom Lence, Mike Duffy and Scott Spence.
Honorary Pallbearers were Emily Waldon, Arvid Borchers, Joe Duffy, Keith Greufe, Jim Cockerham, Lou Riese, Elgin Spence and Larry Opperman. He was laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors provided by the Combined VFW/American Legion Honor Guard from the surrounding area.
Groups in attendance included American Legion and VFW members of the honor guard, Iowa River Hospice and North 3rd Avenue Dairy Queen, among others.
Mitchell Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of George and his family.
