A Mass of Christian Burial for Gaylord will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi-St. Henry Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Gaylord Lenning was born on November 23, 1929, in Williams, Iowa, to Gaylan and Gertrude “Gertie” Dahl Lenning. Gaylord graduated from Van Cleve High School in 1948. He was united in marriage to Janice Kersey at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marshalltown in 1954. Gaylord served his country honorably in the United States Army. Gaylord worked on the farm as well at Fisher Control and retired from there on July 1, 1992. Gaylord was an avid golfer (made numerous holes in one!!), enjoyed going on walks, family vacations and he was able to see his favorite team-the Chicago Cubs finally win the World Series! He also enjoyed bowling and was on the Night Ranger bowling league. Gaylord was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a 4thDegree Knight and had also served as Grand Knight.

Gaylord is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janice. Children: MaryAnne Lenning, Patricia Loffgren (Max), Erick Lenning (Diane), Carolyn Rogers and Dan (Kathy) Lenning. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Gaylord is preceded in death by his parents Gaylan and Gertie; siblings: Amos, Adeline and Goldie; son in law Rick Rogers and his nephew “Uncle Marlon” which was more like a brother to him.
