William “Bill” D. Jackson, 97, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Glenwood Place in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., until the time of the services, at the funeral home. William Donald Jackson was born June 21, 1922, to William L. and Lois (Pope) Jackson in Rockwell, IA, where he attended rural schools. He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1938 and attended two years at Central Iowa Business College. Bill served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to Doris A. Hegland on November 11, 1945, in Marshalltown. Bill began working for Lennox Industries in 1945 in the Purchasing Department and retired after 40 years.
Bill is survived by his children: Bill Jackson, of Elk Grove Village, IL, and Julie (Robin) Snyder, of Runnells, IA; granddaughter Casey (Jeff) Kelling; two great grandsons, Preston and Caden Kelling; brother Bob Jackson; sister Dorothy Lund.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, his parents and sister Naomi Munson.
