Nancy Ruth Hookie, 71

Nancy Ruth Hookie, 71, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri.

Nancy was born in Red Bud, Illinois, on April 9, 1949, the daughter of the late Virgil & Ruth (Veath) Krattli.

She was the widow of Dale Lee Hookie. They were united in marriage on April 1, 1972, at Reedemer Lutheran Church, Marshalltown, Iowa.

Nancy was a member of Elim Lutheran Church, Marshalltown, Iowa, where she served on the church council and organized and administrated the holiday gift program. Her faith was very important to her. She was a member of the city council and served as mayor of Albion, Iowa, and she was the president of Isaak Walton League, of Marshalltown, Iowa.

Nancy worked for Fisher Controls, now Emerson Corp, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was very active in the homeless shelter and local fire department in Albion, Iowa, and the Nimble Thimble Quilting Guild in Hermann, Missouri. She loved animals, reading books, cooking, going camping, spending time with her family and serving her community.

Nancy is survived by a daughter, Stefenie Hookie, of Hermann, Missouri; a sister, Rayelene McClane & husband John, of Columbia, Missouri; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law.
