Robert J. Sharp, 38, of Marshalltown, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 10th, 2020, at UnityPoint- Marshalltown. Cremation rites have been accorded and due to the state mandate, a private family graveside service will be held Friday, May 1st, 2020, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Robert and his family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association in his name. Robert James Sharp was born on October 4, 1981, in Marshalltown, the son of Steven and Donna Sharp. He grew up in Marshalltown and after graduating from the East Marshall High School, he honorably served in the U.S. Army where he was a small diesel engine mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended the NASCAR Technical School. Most recently, Robert was employed as a sales clerk at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. He enjoyed shooting and race cars, helping the crew at 3W Racing.
Surviving are his parents, Steve and Donna Sharp; two brothers, Joseph (Chelle) and Kevin (Jennifer) Sharp; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
