Dorothy J. Lund, 91, of Plano, TX, formally of Marshalltown, IA passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at The T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Dallas, TX. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021, at Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Dorothy was born July 17, 1929 to William and Lois (Pope) Jackson in rural Rockwell, IA in Cerro Gordo County. She lived in Sheffield, Rockwell, Dunbar and Marshalltown, IA. Dorothy was active in many school activities and attended church regularly. She moved from Dunbar to Marshalltown after graduation from Dunbar school system in 1947 and worked for N.W. Bell Telephone Co. for 10 years. Dorothy was untied in marriage to Frank E. “Dick” Lund on July 24, 1949 at the First United Methodist Church. They had five children; Cindy Braack, Chris Lund, Craig Lund, Doug Lund and Mark Lund. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing genealogy and other hobbies. The family enjoyed their annual family vacations. Dick and Dorothy also took great pleasure in their European trips.
Dorothy will be missed by her five children; Cindy Braack of Marshalltown, Chris Lund of Marshalltown, Craig Lund of Plano, Doug Lund of McKinney, TX and Mark Lund of Des Moines, IA; five grandchildren, Chris Braack, Brian (Jasmine) Braack, Kelly (Doug) Lass, Page (Latham) Hobbs, Jeff Lund; eight great-grandchildren, Ashton and Morgan Braack, Elijah West, Izzie Bortell, Freddie and Bennett Lass, Ollie Braack and Beau Hobbs.
Internment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Dorothy will be united in eternal life with her late husband Frank and her parents Bill and Lois Jackson; siblings Bill Jackson, Bob Jackson and Noami Munson.
