Funeral services for Daniel will take place on Saturday, February 27th at 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior beginning at 1:00 P.M. Born Daniel John Ring on July 23, 1959 in Forest City, Iowa, he was the son of John Harold and Jean Elise (McVinua) Ring. He grew up in Emmetsburg, Iowa, where he graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1978. After meeting the love of his life, Lori Jean Tutt, they were united in marriage on October 23, 1982 in Emmetsburg. They were married 33 years before Lori’s passing in 2016. Dan was later blessed to spend his last two years with Jeanne Krieg.

Dan was a hard worker and dedicated his time to several printing companies over the years, including Emmetsburg Publishing, The Times-Republican in Marshalltown and Rock Communications in Newton, Iowa. He was a “Jack of all trades” and could build anything. A big kid at heart, Dan loved children and especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and granddaughter. He had an unshakeable faith and was known to stop and pray with anyone who needed it. Dan was generous with his time and resources, the type of person who would give his shirt off his back. He knew how to enjoy every moment of life and always found room for a good bowl of ice cream or sherbet.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Nicole (Tom) Hallam and Chris (Brittany) Ring; granddaughter, Jeannae Elise Hallam; siblings: Mike (Jodi) Ring, Jeff Ring and Jolene (Doug) Cleveringa; Jeanne Krieg of Minneapolis, Minnesota and grand-pets: Sassy the cat, Flower the guinea pig and dogs Shadow, Bella, Jewel, Marley and Nellie.

In death, Dan rejoins his wife, Lori; his parents and four grandchildren.
