Jerome Milo “Jerry” Velky, 94, of Clutier, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Dennis Conway as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Clutier. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 28, 2021, from 3-5 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Masks are required to be worn and social distancing practiced inside the funeral home and the church. The Mass may be viewed live on the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook page.
Survivors include his six children, Ken (Laurie) Velky of Toledo, Mary (Mike) DeVries of Warrensburg, MO., Jim (Chrys) Velky of Ogden, Julie (Mike) Murray of Marion, John Velky of Davenport, and Tom (Danielle) Velky of Waverly; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
