Sharon Foulk, 66

Sharon Foulk, 66, of Le Grand, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa with her daughter Jenna by her side after a brief but brave battle with cancer.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to causes closest to Sharon’s heart. Sharon Anne Cunningham was born on November 28, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa to Larry and Mariann (Deming) Cunningham. Sharon was educated in the Marshalltown Catholic and public schools, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1973. On September 11, 1976, Sharon was united in marriage to Harold Foulk at St Mary Catholic Church. For the past 27 years, Sharon was employed as a production supervisor at Mid Iowa Workshops. Along with past work at CIRSI, she dedicated her career to supporting individuals with special needs. She was a member of the Le Grand Lioness and was on the Pioneer Days Committee. She also volunteered at the Iowa River Hospice Home and participated in Relay for Life. Sharon enjoyed going to craft shows, sewing, playing card games, purse shopping, reading and traveling to different casinos. She also enjoyed holiday baking and cooking and was known for her “cookies on a stick” that she would make for work and blood drives. Above all else, Sharon enjoyed the time spent with her friends and family.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Harold. Children: Jillissa Foulk of Marshalltown, Jenna Foulk of State Center and Jakob Foulk of Cedar Rapids. Brothers: Guy (Patricia) Cunningham of Des Moines, Todd Cunningham of Des Moines and Jay Cunningham of Virginia. She is also survived by her brothers in law: Mike Ellis of Marshalltown and Roger Freiboth of Dillon and numerous nieces and nephews and many close MIW friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Mariann; brothers: Terry Cunningham and Casey Cunningham and sisters: Julie Ellis and Cristin Freiboth.
