Carol Ann Navara, 77, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in the comfort of her own home while under the care of Iowa River Hospice.
Graveside funeral services for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 2nd at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Carol Ann Navara was born on January 2, 1944 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Anna Belle (Holcomb) Brown. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District, where she graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1962. On June 7, 1964, Carol was united in marriage to Ron Navara. They happily nested in Marshalltown for 55 years. Carol worked at KIOWA for several years before staying home to raise her children. After, Ronnie retired, she went back to work at the Marshalltown Community School District as a para professional at Fisher Elementary School and Miller Middle School. She loved to go antiquing and going to auctions and garage sales. She and Ronnie enjoyed going trout fishing, long car rides and gardening. Carol was a fabulous, loving grandma to her four grandsons. She always encouraged her boys to be little rascals. Carol adored her dogs. She is happily reunited with Ronnie and their fur kids. Ron and Carol enjoyed more than 54 years of marriage until Ron’s passing on February 26, 2019.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Teresa (Rick) Lang and Warren (Tina) Navara; four grandsons: Nick and Sam Lang as well as Jacob and Justin Navara; her sister, Marcia McCubbin and many nephews and nieces.
In eternal life, Carol is reunited with her husband Ron; her parents, Jesse and Anna Belle Brown and two brothers.
