Jon Bradley Wells
Jon Bradley Wells was born August 3, 1957, in Kansas to Dr. Richard Wells and Katheryn (nee Proudfit) Wells. Jon passed peacefully on October 4, 2021. Jon went to Waterloo High School and Waterloo Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed a trip to Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. Jon graduated from Drake University in 1979 with a degree in finance. He worked at Frito Lay where he made a lot of friends. He also worked at Hy-Vee for a few years. Jon and Ruth enjoyed 20 years of friendship and service with their Bible study group.
Jon is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Brail-Freeman, and his stepsons Thomas and Michael Freeman, all of Des Moines, and his brother Dr. Gregg (Mary) Wells, of College Station, Texas. Jon was delighted by the Gospel magic and tract ministry of Pastor Herb Brail (Ruth’s father) and the gracious hospitality of Marge Brail (Ruth’s mother). Jon and Ruth and “The Cousins” – Charlie & Deb Webb, Kent & Betty Proudfit, Dave Proudfit and Karen Hanley met for breakfast every Saturday as long as health permitted.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at Lutheran Church of Hope Chapel, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50266 at 11:00 AM. Luncheon will be served. Memorials to honor Jon may be sent to Fellowship Baptist Church tract ministry, 1008 East Olive St., Marshalltown, Iowa, 50158.
