Pasta recipes

Pasta is one of my favorite foods, so today I am sharing some recipes that feature my favorite food.

Baked Spaghetti

1 lb. spaghetti

1 Tbls. salt

1 medium onion, chopped

4 Tbls. oil

15 oz. tomato sauce

16 oz. tomatoes, chopped

salt, to taste

pepper, to taste

9 oz. cheddar cheese

1/4 c. seasoned breadcrumbs

Boil spaghetti for 15 minutes in salted water; drain. Make tomato gravy by frying onion in oil, adding tomatoes and sauce, then salt and pepper. Cook 20 minutes. Cut up cheese. Grease large glass baking dish with oil. Place half spaghetti in dish. Add small pieces cheese, half the gravy and then sprinkle bread crumbs on top. Add remaining spaghetti, cheese pieces and gravy. Top with cheese strips and breadcrumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Crockpot Spaghetti

1 lb. ground beef, browned

1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix

2 Tbls. instant minced onion

1 can tomato sauce – (8 oz)

4-1/2 cups tomato juice or V-8

1 can mushrooms – (4 oz), drained

4 oz. dry spaghetti, broken into thirds

Combine all ingredients but spaghetti in crockpot and stir. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours. Turn to HIGH for last hour and add spaghetti. Stir often.

Skillet Spaghetti

1 lb. ground beef

1 Tbls. oil

1 package (1.5 oz.) Spaghetti Sauce Mix

6 oz. tomato paste

2-1/2 c. water

1/2 c. chopped onion

1/2 c. chopped bell pepper

2 c. ziti or elbow macaroni

Shredded cheese

Brown ground beef; drain oil. Add tomato paste, water, seasoning mix, onions, bell peppers, and ziti or macaroni. Bring to boil. Cover; simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with shredded cheese
