Marshalltown Area United Way’s annual golf event raises record $28,000+
The Marshalltown Area United Way (MAUW) is proud to announce the success of its 2025 Annual Charity Golf Event, which raised a record-breaking $28,000+ to support programs that focus on health, youth opportunity, financial security, and resiliency in Marshall County.
Held on June 6th, at the American Legion Golf Course, this year’s event brought together local businesses, community leaders, and volunteers for a fun-filled day of golfing, giving, and community building.
We are deeply grateful to our Event Sponsor, Gary Schaudt with CIACA, and our Golf Cart Sponsor, Emerson, for their leadership and commitment to the mission of MAUW. Special thanks also goes to our Exclusive Sponsors, whose generosity played a major role in this year’s success: Con-Struct, First Interstate Bank, Glenwood Place, HyVee, Karl’s Auto Group, Legacy Real Estate, Marshalltown Speedway, McGregor’s Furniture, MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union, Metronet, Pentz Appliance & TV, T2K Nutrition, and Niedermann Construction. Our appreciation extends to TFD Photo & Film, who sponsored the Lower Lounge, providing a relaxing and welcoming space for golfers after their rounds.
We also want to recognize and thank our outstanding Hole Sponsors, whose support was crucial in bringing this event to life: 19 Salon & Spa, Alerus, Anderson Funeral Home, Animal Medical Clinic, B&G HVAC, Bankers Advertising (with Peggy Hannam), Bowman & Miller P.C., Cubbies on Main, Dave’s Crane, Dynamic Installations, El Portal, Electric Supply, Embers, Ethington Heating & Cooling, Eyecare Associates, Farmers Savings Bank, Feldman Financial, GNB Bank, Hipster Sisters, Iowa Kitchen Company, Labor City Barber Shop, La Carreta Mexican Grill, Mann Construction, McAtee Tire, McFarland Clinic, Mitchell Family Funeral Home, No Limits Real Estate, Old Timer, Opa! Grill, Premier Real Estate, Real Deals, Shomo Madsen Insurance, Sign Creations, Simms Construction, Smokin’ G’s, State Farm Insurance (Tyler Peschong), STR Ventures, Sub City, Tannin Inc., The 918, The Flying Elbow, The Willows, Top Crafters, Top Notch Tree Service, Vaughn’s Pub, and Wells Fargo Financial Advisors (Jim Hunt).
A huge thank-you also goes out to the many businesses and individuals who donated door prizes and sponsored on-course contests — you made the day more exciting and memorable for all. Our meal was made possible thanks to a generous meat donation from JBS, with Hy-Vee stepping up to prepare the food with excellence. Your contributions created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that golfers raved about.
We’d also like to recognize and thank the American Legion Golf Course and staff for being such wonderful hosts. Your continued partnership makes this event a staple in our community each year.
Finally, this event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible work of our Golf Committee Members: Brandon Dutton, Brooke Holven, Gary Schaudt, Kendra Sorensen, Lana Benz, Leah Stahlin, Matt Brodin, Rachel Norton, and Sampson Songkhamdet. Your passion, leadership, and coordination were key to making this year a record-breaking success.
The Annual Golf Event is more than just a fundraising event — it’s a celebration of what we can accomplish when we come together. Every dollar raised will support vital programs and services in our local community through MAUW and its partner agencies.
