I recognize the hard choices we’ll have to make to keep our national spending in check. But cuts to vital benefits, like Social Security, that so many Iowans rely on shouldn’t be on the table. We’ve all worked hard to accrue the benefits we’ve been promised – we earned them, we need them, and we rely on them. My vote in November will be going to the only candidate who believes that balancing our budget shouldn’t be done on the back’s of Iowa seniors and middle class families who have already contributed so much to our community. Monica Vernon has stood up to fight for the middle class and said no to cuts that will hurt our families and seniors. Cuts to our earned benefits are not an option and I’ll be voting to protect what I’ve earned in November with a vote for Monica Vernon.
