Mark Smith repays borrowed money
On Oct. 23, 2018, many people in Iowa House District 71 received a flyer from James Perez that said Rep. Mark Smith voted to borrow $131 million from reserves and then did not vote to repay the money.
The flyer gives reference to a bill that spent other money and Mark was a no on that bill. Existing laws require state reserve funds be repaid.
However, Mr. Perez does not state what bill was passed in the Iowa General Assembly that borrowed $131 million and how Mark voted.
Show your proof Mr. Perez. No such bill existed. Mark did not vote to borrow $131 million.
Leaders like Mark Smith repay borrowed money whether it is for personal purchases or to cover public debts. Mr. Perez, can you say the same?
