What is a family

In the beginning, God created man and woman and told them to multiply themselves and subdue the rest of his creation. In Genesis 2:24-25 God gives a vivid example of what a family should be. The male should leave his birth-home and marry the woman of his desire; thus they become one spiritual unit, not two individual ones. This is the blessing God gives to marriage.

What is a family, then? If you look at this example, we will see a family is one that creates, nurtures and protects its members while teaching moral values. The most important lesson is to have belief in God. Morality is important because it lets God know we are serious about our relationship to Him — without it, everything is chaos. Isn’t it neat that we have the ability to create, just as God did? But creation has a responsibility with it, we procreate so God can use our created ones to continue to bless him. In faithfulness to God, we teach and train our children.

Behavioral traits are found through out the scriptures. Proverbs 1:5-6 says that a wise person will hear and will increase learning and a person of understanding shall attain wise counsels. Upon our petition, the holy spirit will be our guide to sort out the untruthful things of life, revealing then, what is the real truth. We should pursue the meaning of spiritual wisdom. Proverbs 7:1 says that the beginning of knowledge should start with a Godly fear (trust) in the Creator. Fear/trust is not an indication that we should be afraid of God; it is a fact that an eternity without God is what we should fear.

Giving our life to God will prove our trust that he will lead, guide and keep us safe from satanic involvement. God knows the future even when we don’t. Each December, we celebrate the birthday of God’s son; the Messiah who was promised In Genesis 3:15.

It is in his honor that we trust for he has the authority to save us from Adam’s/Our sin –he is the only one who can. Our Christmas cards to others plead for hope, peace, love and blessings, all in the name of Jesus the Messiah. We continue that prayer so all can experience the power of God in this season of remembrance — we pray for blessings to others, the world over.
