Heartland has always had speakers in D.C.

In Monday’s paper, Adam Sodders wrote an interesting story about an entrepreneur from State Center, Afton Stout, going to appear before a committee in the U.S. Capitol last week. The committee is headed by Rep. Abby Finkenauer. It’s a good article until the last paragraph where Sodders quotes Finkenauer as saying, “It’s been a long time since we have heard folks from the heartland and their voices being lifted up here in Washington.” I hope she doesn’t really believe that because we have had many people go to Washington D.C. every year to speak.
