Patrons, talk to your school board members

Patrons of Marshall County Schools please, make your voices heard.

School administrators are making the recommendations through their school boards on ways to cut their budgets. In the past some vital class offerings or programs have been eliminated.

If we want to maintain or increase student enrollment, I don’t feel skeletonizing the curriculum and/or teaching staff is the answer.

Trimming the budget is always a difficult task. It is wise to examine both the top and bottom of the employee spectrum. The possibility of sharing administration and/or instructors could provide needed funds.

So please patrons talk to your school board members and let your feelings be known before some of your students’ needs and wants have been eliminated or cut to part-time.
