I have been reading about the proposed plans that will destroy one of the most wonderful places in Marshalltown. For those of you who have not had any dealings with Iowa River Hospice, let me share with you.

A few years ago, my wonderful mother was in need of help that was above and beyond what my brother and I could provide. Hospice provided the most loving, kind care in her home we could have ever asked for. The staff was beyond wonderful and the care was amazing – day or night. When she finally neared the end, she went into the Hospice house and of course the loving care continued. They took equally good care of the family and we will always be eternally grateful. They attended her funeral and stopped by many times when we were cleaning the house and offered to help. We still keep in contact to this day with many of them.

So please don’t destroy this treasure for a project that could be moved to someplace that would not impact so many lives.

Please rethink your plans and listen to your citizens or your former citizens. Thank you
