Stone should find a better location

I find it humorous that Todd Casady’s counter to any negative comments regarding Stone Sanitation relocating on Iowa Ave. is how many properties they own and how much they are worth.

That tells me a lot. It’s “I don’t care about you because I am the big cheese.” Marshalltown has an industrial park on 18th Ave., right?

Nowhere did I read that Stones is not a locally owned company either. It’s a Texas company, and how many new employees will it hire? We are all apprehensive about how it will look and smell after we were told JBS had odor control.

I smell their odor control frequently. It smells a lot like this deal that the city and the Casadys tried to slide past everyone. It has been in the works for a year. Casady has made it clear he doesn’t need the money.

Shame on him for not caring about the people who already live there. Money has become the demon of our society. The city should have urged it to come here but be located in an industrial area away from homes.
