Squeezing in nature before weather turns

November 13, 2012 - Bennet Goldstein

I tried to squeeze in as much nature as I possibly could last week before the cold reality of winter weather slaps us in the face. For three straight days while the weather was still mild, I got a chance to take a jog on the bike path on the western edge of Marshalltown. It’s not quite as scenic as it was a few weeks ago when the leaves were still on the trees, but it was still nice to enjoy nature and the views of Linn Creek. I recommend it for both clearing the mind and getting good exercise. I saw a few walkers on the path too with the same idea as me — to enjoy the waning moments of nice weather. Well, the past few days the weather has been less than ideal for jogs on the trail, but I’m holding out hope I can hit the path again before the real nasty weather begins. I would like to squeeze even more nature in before the snow flies.
