Tigers move unbeaten start to 7-0

CEDAR RAPIDS - The unbeaten start to the season stretched to seven games as the Marshalltown Community College men's basketball squad strolled to a 71-58 victory over NJCAA Division II No. 6-ranked Dakota County Technical College in Friday's opener of the Kirkwood Classic.

Matej Delinac led four Tigers scoring in double figures, pouring in three 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 18 points.

Chris Caird collected 12 points and team-highs of eight rebounds and four assists. Jamal Gatali tallied 11 points and seven rebounds, and Troidell Carter contributed 10 points.

Lamont Adair came in off the bench to record seven points and seven boards for MCC, which faces off with Elgin (Ill.) CC in today's 1 p.m. tournament game. Kirkwood defeated Elgin 88-51 in Friday's second game.

Clinton Parker Jr. paced Dakota County (2-1) with 15 points.
