Congress needs real solutions

December 10, 2012
Dan Schmitt, Marshalltown , Times-Republican

I have to admit that I'm not a sports enthusiast, but I do know all teams work to be winners. That is much like our congressional representatives, both Democrat and Republican, feel that they must be on the winning team. Is that why they never get anything done to help the people that they work for? And some times they work not only to win, but totally vanquish the other party.

Here we are with every one talking about going off the economic cliff. We surely will if Congress insists on either party sticking to their sole solution. And we the people end up the losers. Or if they put their heads together and realize that the big banks are holding trillions of dollars of derivative debt and there is no way to make any solution with that on our shoulders.

Many influential people besides Lyndon LaRouche have said,"Unless we pass the Glass-Steagall law just as Franklin Roosevelt signed it into Law," which will wipe all of this debt off the books, can we see the sunlight. No sun light with John Maynard Keynes' economic adjustment of interest rates and tax rates, in other words, deficit financing. This is what President Obama seems to want to continue to do, at least to date he has refused to allow Glass-Steagall into active Law. This will take Congress totally out of the hands of solutions and vanquish "we the peoples" chance for a better life.

We the LaRouche people have plans for a more productive America with Equitable Trade with other countries, which would raise all economies no matter of size.
