John Ernest Vineyard and Winery to host Creative Retirement group

The Iowa Valley Continuing Education Creative Retirement program will take a trip to the John Ernest Vineyard and Winery in Tama, on Feb. 13.

Members are encouraged to join the group that will travel by bus and enjoy a lunch at the winery with an opportunity to sample JEV wines. Jamie Busch-Upah, John Ernest Vineyard & Winery manager, will be the hostess. Jamie is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in public relations, marketing and journalism. She began working at the winery in May 2005 with the idea of launching her family's business into a "whirling success." Join Busch-Upah at the John Ernest Vineyard & Winery where she will give background information on the wine business in Iowa, history of grapes in Iowa, information on the correct way to taste wine and explain the key components of judging the quality of wine. A tour of the winery and a question and answer period will be included.

Cost of this "Valentine's package" is $25 per person. People should be Creative Retirement members to register. Cost of a Creative Retirement membership is $10 and allows access to a variety of programs, events and trips through September 2013.
