Incidents

On Friday, Jacy William Large, of Melbourne, reported the theft of a gold coin, two silver coins, 120 $20 bills, miscellaneous coins and cash, a iPod Nano, two gold necklace, three bottles of perfume, silver picture frames and pillow cases from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $5,656.99.

Arrests

On Monday, David Lawrence Smelcer, of Melbourne, was arrested for probation revocation.

On Monday, Dale Eugene Patterson, 203 1/2 S. 3rd Ave., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, excessive speed, failure to prove insurance against liability and possession of contraband in the jail.

On Monday, Mark Elwood Oelmann, of Ackley, was arrested for failure to serve a four day jail sentence.

On Feb. 10, Luke Patrick Nelson, of St. Anthony, was arrested for aggravated assault.

On Feb. 10, Vicki Jo Nelson-Forbes, of St. Anthony, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Feb. 9, Andrew Alan Bonin, of Iowa Falls, was arrested for absence from custody.

On Feb. 8, Jonathan Robert Thompson, of Le Grand, was arrested for ongoing criminal conduct, burglary-third degree and theft-second degree.

On Feb. 8, Travis Ray Mangrich, of Evansville, was arrested for failure to serve jail time.

On Feb. 7, Roberta Lynn Delaware, of Le Grand, was arrested for failure to appear for initial appearance-open container, failure to appear for initial appearance-driving under suspension and failure to appear for initial appearance-no valid driver's license.

Accidents

On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Courtney Ann Vandekamp, of Gilman, was southbound on Zeller Avenue when it hit an icy spot and went out of control, entered the west ditch where it rolled before coming to rest on its wheels. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Vandekamp vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

On Monday, a vehicle driven by Jaine Nichol Pfantz, of State Center, was northbound on Highway 330 when it attempted to brake to avoid contact with an unknown vehicle, lost control and struck the east side of a bridge railing which caused functional damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pfantz vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

On Feb. 10, a vehicle driven by Xing Hui Zhong, of New Bern, N.C., was northbound on Zeller Avenue when, due to icy road conditions, it went out of control, entered the east ditch and struck a snow covered embankment causing severe damage to the front wheels. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Zhong vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On Feb. 10, a minivan driven by Albert Lee Fields, 602 E. Church St., was northbound from Sand Road to Oaks Avenue when the minivan went from the hard surface road to the gravel it went out of control, spun around, entered the east ditch and over-turned coming to rest on the driver's side. Passenger, Rose Marie Hill, of Albion, was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Damage to the Fields minivan was estimated at $1,500.

On Feb. 8, a vehicle driven by Benjamin Raymond Reese, 204 N. 14th St., was northbound on Highway 14 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Reese vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
