Accidents

On Friday, a vehicle backing out of a private driveway in the 500 block of North First Avenue struck a legally parked car owned by Rogelio Gomez, 505 N. 1st Ave., that was sitting on the street and left the scene. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gomez car was estimated at $600.

On Feb. 22, a vehicle driven by Trevor Dashawn Weilder, 106 S. 5th Ave., was northbound on South Third Avenue approaching the intersection with East Olive Street when, due to the snowy road conditions, it collided with the rear of a car driven by Hayley Nicole Lillibridge, 1806 Knollwood Dr., which was stopped at the stop sign. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Weilder vehicle was estimated at $1,500 while the Lillibridge car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Feb. 8, a bus driven by Darrel Keith Peterson, 301 W. Ferner St., was southbound on South Eighth Avenue stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with East Anson Street. It pulled away from the stop sign and into the intersection colliding with a van driven by Bradley Robert Stevens that was traveling east on Anson. No injuries were reported. Peterson was cited for unsafe entry onto a through highway. Damage to the Peterson bus was estimated at $800 while the Stevens van received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Arrests

On Wednesday, Calvin Jon McCoy, of Montour, was arrested for pre-trial violation.

On Monday, Ivan Robles Carrillo, 303 S. 4th Ave. Apt. #3, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

On Feb. 24, Steven Ray Ralls, of Grundy Center, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

On Feb. 24, Roger Evans Walker, of Tama, was arrested for driving while barred.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a pickup driven by Roseann Lea Nymeyer, 2660 300th St., was southbound on Reed Avenue when it went out of control on the snowy roadway, entered the east ditch and struck a tree. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Nymeyer pickup was estimated at $2,500.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Jason Bakker, age 40, of Wellsburg, was arrested in Wellsburg and charged with domestic abuse assault. He was released on promise to appear.

On Feb. 24, Thomas Romans, age 29, of Aplington, was arrested on 110th Street east of X Avenue for operating while intoxicated-second offense. He posted bond and was released.

On Feb. 11, Darryl Jordan, age 50, of Waterloo, was arrested on Highway 20 west of T-19 for operating while intoxicated-second offense. He is being held in the Grundy County jail in lieu of bond.
