Arrests

On March 20, Sonny Jensen-Dew, age 29, of Lincoln, was arrested at the Grundy County Sheriff's Office and charged with probation violation. She is being held in lieu of bond.

On March 20, Kathie Crump, age 44, of Grundy Center, was arrested at the Grundy County Sheriff's Office on a Marshall County warrant charging her with possession of a controlled substance. She was released to Marshall County authorities.

On March 15, Trevor Wright, age 22, of Buckingham, was arrested in Reinbeck on a Tama County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was released to Tama County authorities.

On March 11, Zachary Anderson, age 24, of Reinbeck, was arrested in Reinbeck on a Black Hawk County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance. He was released to Black Hawk County authorities.

On March 10, Shawna Bailey, age 24, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging her with failure to appear. She posted bond and was released.

On March 5, Bradley Pedersen, age 39, of Cedar Falls, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. He posted bond and was released.

On March 4, Lauri Williams, age 33, of Cedar Falls, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging her with possession of a controlled substance. She posted bond and was released.

On March 3, Shawna Bailey, age 24, of Waterloo, was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging her with failure to appear. She posted bond and was released.

On March 3, Mark Comer, age 35, of Minneapolis, Minn., was arrested by Black Hawk County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He pleaded guilty and was released.

Accidents

On March 19, a vehicle driven by Joseph Stanley, age 69, of Gladbrook, was westbound on Highway 20 when it went out of control, entered the north ditch and rolled onto its side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Stanley vehicle was estimated at $4,000.

On March 19, a semi driven by Talwinder Brar, age 27, of Bakersfield, Calif., was westbound on Highway 20 when strong winds and icy road conditions caused it to jack-knife and enter the north ditch where it came to rest. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Brar semi was estimated at $1,800.

On March 18, a vehicle driven by Devon Ryan, age 27, of Wellsburg, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it came upon a slower moving vehicle driven by Luis Sandoval, age 31, of Newton, and attempted to pass, however due to road conditions continued straight, and collided with the rear of the Sandoval vehicle sending it into the south ditch as the Ryan vehicle went through the median, across the westbound lanes and came to rest in the north ditch. No injuries were reported at this time. Ryan was cited for failure to maintain control while Sandoval was cited for driving while license is suspended. Damage to the Ryan vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the Sandoval vehicle received an estimated $3,500 in damage.

On March 18, a car driven by a female juvenile from New Hartford and a vehicle driven by a male juvenile from New Hartford were southbound and northbound, respectively, when they entered a white area due to blowing snow and unable to stop due to the snow and ice packed road conditions and they collided head-on. No injuries were reported at this time. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

On March 18, a vehicle driven by Barry Hoy, age 51, of Conrad, was eastbound on D-67 west of Highway 14 when it went out of control on the slippery roadway and entered the south ditch where it rolled before coming to rest. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hoy vehicle was estimated at $12,500.

On March 18, a car driven by Lindsay Parsons, age 28, of Eldora, was northbound on Highway 14 when it went out of control, crossed into the southbound lane and struck a guardrail. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Parsons car was estimated at $4,500.

On March 18, a vehicle driven by Spencer Farrell, age 20, of Ankeny, was westbound on Highway 20 when it went out of control, crossed the centerline and struck a guardrail on the south shoulder. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Farrell vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

On March 14, a car driven by Keith Ruffcorn, age 59, of Waterloo, was traveling on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ruffcorn car was estimated at $6,000.

On March 13, a vehicle driven by Timmy Flater, age 53, of Holland, was northbound on Highway 14 when it went out of control on the icy roadway, entered the west ditch and rolled before coming to rest back on its wheels. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Flater vehicle was estimated at $9,500.

On March 13, a vehicle driven by Rolando Colorado, age 24, of Hampton, was southbound on Highway 14 when it went out of control, crossed the road and entered the east ditch where it rolled. No injuries were reported. Colorado was cited for no driver's license. Damage to the Colorado vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On March 12, a vehicle driven by a female juvenile from Wellsburg was eastbound on D-35 west of C Avenue when it went out of control entered the south ditch and rolled onto its side. No injuries were reported.

On March 10, a car driven by Laurent Hakizimana, age 21, of Cedar Rapids, was westbound on Highway 20 when it went out of control and entered the median. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hakizimana car was estimated at $2,000.

On March 10, a car driven by Prasad Rudramuniyaiah, age 42, of Madison, S.D., was westbound on Highway 20 when it went out of control on the snow and ice covered road, entered the ditch and struck a reflector post. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Rudramuniyaiah car was estimated at $3,000.

On March 10, a vehicle driven by Mark Evers, age 53, of Hudson, was southbound on Highway 14 when it went out of control on the snow and ice, entered the east ditch and rolled onto its side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Evers vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

On March 9, a semi driven by Gene Anderson, age 27, of Wellsburg, was southbound on T-19 south of 140th Street when the driver fell asleep at the wheel causing the semi to hit the shoulder of the road, awakening the driver which tried to regain control, but the semi tipped onto the passenger side and entered the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Anderson was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Anderson semi was estimated at $65,000.

On March 8, a vehicle driven by Wesley Beenken, age 35, of Grundy Center, was on C Avenue when it attempted to stop and slid into the rear of a vehicle driven by Iowa Select Farms, of Iowa Falls, which was parked. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Beenken vehicle was estimated at $600 while the Iowa Select Farms vehicle received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

On March 5, a vehicle driven by Joshua McCrory, age 31, of Altoona, was westbound on Highway 20 when the roadway became icy, it went out of control, entered the north ditch and rolled coming to rest on its top. No injuries were reported. Damage to the McCrory vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

On March 1, a vehicle driven by Gabriel Bowles, age 29, of Grundy Center, was eastbound on 260th Street west of T-29 when it left the traveled portion of the road, hit a snow bank in the south ditch and rolled several times before coming to rest. No injuries were reported at this time. The accident remains under investigation. Damage to the Bowles vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

On Feb. 22, a vehicle driven by Craig Harders, age 66, of Lincoln, was eastbound on D-35 at T Avenue when it attempted to make a U-turn in the intersection and collided with a vehicle driven by John Jensen, age 43, of Reinbeck, which was traveling west on D-35. No injuries were reported. Harders was cited for failure to yield right-of-way and Jensen was cited for no insurance. Damage to the Harders vehicle was estimated at $5,000 while the Jensen vehicle received an estimated $5,400 in damage.
