Local law enforcement begin ‘Operation Midway’ Friday

April 30, 2013
Times-Republican

Officers with the Marshalltown Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff's office and other law enforcement agencies across the middle of the state will be participating in a GTSB special project, "Operation Midway."

This project will run Friday and Saturday. This multi-agency enforcement event will concentrate on speed and also the high risk drivers not wearing their seat belts and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Officers will be concentrating their efforts on Highway 30 and 14 during the evening and nighttime hours.

These special events are conducted to reduce serious injury and fatality crashes and keep the public safe. It's not about writing tickets or the number of violations. The habitual violators and high risk drivers will be ticketed. Traffic safety is our goal and multiple officers will be enforcing it this weekend.
