ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Jeff Clement hit his first home run at his new home ballpark, but the Rochester Red Wings fell 7-5 to the Columbus Clippers in Monday's International League game at Frontier Field.
Clement connected for a solo home run with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning off Columbus left-hander T.J. House.
The Marshalltown native finished 1-for-4 at the plate with a strikeout and his third round-tripper of the season, upping his batting average to .182. Clement is hitting .285 (10-for-35) over his last 10 games with the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, a span that includes all three of his home runs and all six of his RBIs this season.
The Red Wings (15-23) begin a four-game homestand with the Durham Bulls tonight.
