‘Click It or Ticket’ results from Memorial holiday

Officers with the Marshalltown Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies across the state, recently completed a two-week traffic enforcement project over the Memorial Day Holiday. This project was part of the National "Click It or Ticket" campaign and concentrated on seat belt, speed and drunk driving violations. The project ran from May 20-June 2 with an additional 14 officers working during that time.

The following is a breakdown of the contacts (arrest, citation or warning) officers made during

the event.

Operating While Intoxicated, 10; Seat Belt, 16; Child Restraint, one; Speeding, 20; Stop Sign/Light, 12; No Driver's License, nine; Driving Under Suspension/Revoked, eight; No Registration, eight; Dark Windows, one; Equipment Violation, 20; No Insurance, 13; Move over violation, one; Other Traffic Violations, seven; Driving While Barred, four; Public Intoxication, four; Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age, seven; Narcotics Arrest, 13 and Felony Arrest, two.

In addition, officers worked a joint speed project with the Marshall County Sheriff's office along Highway 30 in an attempt to reduce speed and accidents. The Marshalltown Police Department appreciates your cooperation during these special projects.
