The Marshalltown sophomore baseball team lost consecutive road doubleheaders earlier this week, falling twice at Mason City Monday and at Cedar Rapids Kennedy Tuesday.
The Bobcats (1-11-1) were defeated 6-1 and 9-3 by Mason City. In the opener, Peyton Williams had an RBI single and Jordan Smith also had a hit. Smith took the loss on the mound.
Sam Rogers had two hits, including a double, in the second game. Jack Greene had a triple and scored, while Joe Rebik and Ben Rebik each added singles. Williams got the pitching loss.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy won by scores of 12-5 and 10-0. Luke Severson had three of Marshalltown's eight hits in the first game, driving in two runs and scoring once. Devan Mann was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Reggie Johannes was 1-for-1 with two walks, two runs and three stolen bases. Michael Schrempf took the loss.
Severson and Schrempf accounted for the Bobcats' only hits in the second game. Justus Bjelland took the loss.
