Clarence W. "Babe" McKibbin, 91, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Friday, July 12, 2013, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, in Ames, IA. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes, in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Riverside Cemetery, in Marshalltown. Babe was born May 20, 1922 to Cass and Ella (Meyer) McKibben in Thornton, IA. He attended rural Marshall county schools. He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. Babe was united in marriage to Alice Schrafel on February 21, 1964 at the Alice Church of God in rural Conrad. He was employed with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a conductor and brakeman. Babe enjoyed gardening, fishing, and yard work.
Babe will be missed by his wife, Alice; two brothers; Bill (Ramona) McKibbin of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mac McKibbin of California, a sister, Betty Moffett of California, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
