Florita Ann Castellanos, 112 W. Lincoln St., made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 in Magistrate Court. She will represent herself in this case before the court. Castellanos was released on her own recognizance.

Eric Maurice Mayes, 702 E. Main St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a burglary-third degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 16. Mayes was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by 4 p.m. today to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

Jose Alberto Valdovinos, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of pre-trial release charge. Michael Marquess will continue as counsel. The next court date is a jury trial at 9 a.m. on Oct. 1. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Nancy Jean Baldwin, 1001 W. Iowa Ave. #23, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. Bethany Curry will continue as counsel. The contempt hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 9. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that if she owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, Baldwin is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours and make arrangements to surrender them. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Shanya Joy Piersol, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 in Magistrate Court. Piersol was released on her own recognizance.

Ben Keller, 401 N. First St., made an initial appearance on a possession of burglary tools charge and a burglary-third degree charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 16. Keller was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by 4 p.m. today and sign a pre-trial release agreement.

Gordon Riendeau, 312 N. First St., made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine charge and an unlawful possession of prescription drugs charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 16. Riendeau was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today's date.

Glenda Smith, Homeless, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The contempt hearing is set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 26. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Marvin Randall Sutton, 1401 S. 17th Ave., made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 in Magistrate Court. Sutton was released on his own recognizance.

Tammy Shawn Sanchez, of Laurel, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 in Magistrate Court. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case.

Patsy Dana Renae Ortega, of Union, made an initial appearance on a simple assault charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on Oct. 1 in Magistrate Court. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Shawn Michael Menne, 532 N. First St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on two counts of a carrying weapons charge and a trespass charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle his cases. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Sept. 3. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. If bond is met then Menne is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services.
