DES MOINES - The Board of Directors of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has selected Iowa Public Television as its television provider for state tournament events.

A new three-year agreement will begin with the 2014 Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament championship games. IPTV will also televise the state finals in soccer, softball and volleyball. The station also plans to broadcast seasonal specials to recap the swimming and diving, cross country and bowling state tournaments in the winter, and track and field, tennis and golf during the spring.

"We are thrilled to partner with Iowa Public Television," said IGHSAU Executive Director Mike Dick. "It was very important to us that every Iowan had the opportunity to watch our state tournaments on television. IPTV provides us with that opportunity."
